Timetable
Our timetable is arranged to allow children to make individual choices
and also to work together in groups, enjoying teacher-directed
activities. During a typical nursery session children have the
opportunity to make choices from a wide variety of different
experiences including exploratory play, sand and water play,
mathematics and language games and equipment, dough and baking, drawing
and writing, books, construction, soft play, computers, imaginative
role play, creative and sensory experiences.
Later
in the session children share a family group time when they eat a snack
together, and enjoy focus activities as a small group.
Outdoor
play is an essential part of the children's learning and is usually
offered to all children on a daily basis. Over the course of each term,
children have the opportunity to particpate in large and small group
activities to enjoy dance, P.E., music, circle games, story sesions and
drama.
Topic
work is planned termly and the planning is displayed on the
Parents’ notice board. Children’s progress is monitored
throughout the term and samples of their work are kept for their Record
Books. Parents’ evenings are held termly, but the nursery’s
open door policy means that staff are always available to talk to
parents.
